Teacher Council Assignment for June

Thanks to all of you incredible teachers for your participation in Sunday's Teacher Council! We had some terrific discussions in both hours that really seemed to invite the Spirit. Thank you for your role in making it so edifying.

For those who weren't there (and as a reminder to those who were), here is your assignment for June:

Seek out revelation to help one member of your class

We're giving you plenty of time because, as we discussed, receiving revelation is often a process. You may want to review President Nelson's talk on revelation from the last conference to guide your quest.

Please keep in mind that this is a council, not a class. There are several differences between the two, but one of them is that councils take action. By accepting this assignment, you benefit not only yourself and your student, but you also benefit the council.

I know that God is anxious to reveal something to you that will help you be more effective servants for one of your students. Let's all do our best to find out what that is and share our experiences with each other.

Have a wonderful month, and I'm looking forward to our next discussion!

And speaking of discussion, feel free to share comments, questions, and ideas below.

Introduction

This is the blog for Sunset 13th Ward teacher council discussions. Each month a member of the Sunday School Presidency will create a new blog post to introduce the topic for the month along with some resources. Members of the council can join in the conversation by

  1. Commenting with questions related to the monthly topic
  2. Answering questions that you see in comment threads
  3. Reading through the provided resources
  4. Commenting with any current issues or concerns you have as teachers that you would like to discuss during teacher council meetings
This is your opportunity to let us know what you would like to see in teacher council meetings. The Sunday School Presidency would like more input and more feedback so that we can design these meetings to be as helpful as possible for the many wonderful teachers in the ward.
